Will you apply for permanent residence in the UK, British citizenship or fiancé(e), spouse visa?

Then you probably need to make the A1 or B1 English test. And LondonHelp4U can help you!

We apply the two tests in central London or in other cities in the UK (consult us), with 5 choices of days a week, you get the result on time and your certificate arrives in just 5 working days here in our London agency! Easy, right?

We also want to explain a bit more about each one. Remembering that the Home Office has a requirement for providers of these tests and the one we use is authorised by the Home Office, so you will be in good hands, as usual!

About A1 test

  • The certificate is valid for two years, but can be used to renew the visa, even if it exceeds that period

Basically, in the test, you need to demonstrate a basic command of English through basic conversation – no writing, reading and listening.

This level is considered basic, equivalent to 40-50 hours of language study, for most students who are already familiar with the language.

According to the Home Office, the goal is that the person proofs that understands everyday expressions and very basic phrases.

Who needs A1 test

The Home Office requests the English test, level A1, to citizens of countries outside the European Union (EU) who wish to marry and live in the UK with a member of the EU or a holder of the permanent resident in the UK.

The test became mandatory from 29 November 2010. The aim is to ensure that individuals who wish to settle in the UK as civil partner of a member of the European community, or resident, can speak and understand the English language and integrate into the culture of the country.
