Business and Work Visas: Who can apply and work in the UK

If you wish to undertake or work in the UK, it is important that you have the necessary information on how business and work visas work in England and in the other countries that make up the group. There are currently 3 types of visas: Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 5.

Tier 1 – To invest and to undertake

This is the visa required by non-European professionals who want to invest in the UK or be actively involved in running a business in the UK. You need to have the least capital of £ 200,000.

Tier 1 also applies to wealthy individuals who want to make a large financial investment in the UK. In this case, you need to have the least capital of £ 2,000,000.

The team of applications for Tier 1 is completed by students graduated and identified by higher education institutions as owners of innovative ideas or entrepreneurial skills. They are thus able to extend their stay in the UK after completing their studies.

Tier 2 – To work

This visa category is applicable for qualified professionals who wish to work in the United Kingdom. This applies to any foreigner with a job offer. The opposing undertaking must prove that it needs a worker who is not a member of the European Union.

Tier 2 is also valid for employees of multinational companies who are being transferred by their employer to a British branch of the organization, whether for long or short term.

The visa may still be required by high level athletes and persons with positions or functions within religious orders. In these cases, it is necessary to take the A1 English test.

Tier 5 – For temporary jobs

The Tier 5 is valid for people coming to the UK to work for a short period of no more than 12 months. Professionals with sports and artistic activities, citizens who perform voluntary unpaid work, religious ministers and officials of foreign governments or international organizations.
